Badass Women’s Month

Since The Orange Troglodyte™ has essentially cancelled Women’s History Month I’ve decided to continue where I left off after Black History Month was essentially cancelled.

I am going to take the thirty-one days in March and celebrate thirty-one of my favorite badasses throughout history in meme form. To start the month: the primary reason I am obsessed with women in suits. Marlene Dietrich.

Women's History Month meme celebrating the badass that is Marlene Dietrich who once offered to assasinate Adolf Hitler.

Did you know Marlene Dietrich wanted to assassinate Adolf Hitler? Can you imagine? As ridiculous as it sounds when you consider how much she hated ol’ Adolf and the Third Reich, and Hitlee-poos desire to have Marlene Dietrich doing propaganda films for the Reich it seems at least plausible.

An insecure megalomaniac’s desire to be near celebrity and a fierce woman’s love of countries new (the United States) and old (Germany) and it seems at least plausible. It’s not like she would have been the first femme fatale to carry out assasinations. But I’ll get into a couple of those assassin types later in the month.

For those who know me well, the only surprise about tomorrow’s badass is that I didn’t start the month with her. Shirley Manson.

Women's History Month meme celebrating the badass that is Shirley Manson whose music quite literally kept me alive when that was the last thing I wanted to be.

Speaking of women in suits, Shirley Manson is fierce in anything. Simpletons think I love her because I have a thing for redheads, or because of how she looks. And listen, she has aged like the finest wine, but her badassery – to me at least – stems from her innate ability and willingness to take out her broken bits, put them on display for the rest of us, and then remind us that these broken bits are not the entirety of what makes any of us. She is unabashedly her in a world that is constantly trying to force her – and the rest of us – to be something else. Something prettier, more polished and polite. She says, “fuck that.’

There will be twenty-nine more of these and you can find them and follow along over on my instagram. All women that I think are badasses. I have a list, but if you have a woman or three you want me to include just leave them in the comments.

Fun fact, one of the the things I like more about AI vs. humans is that AI actually change course when presented new information. Initially ChatGPT tried to tell me Black History Month and Women’s History Month were not cancelled. I pointed out that while they were not explicitly cancelled they were effectively cancelled by The Orange Troglodyte’s™ EO forcing Federal Agencies to roll back DEI initiatives including ***History Months.

A screenshot of a chat conversation discussing the impact of President Trump’s 2025 executive order targeting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs. The conversation explains that while Black History Month and Women’s History Month were not explicitly canceled, the order led some federal agencies to scale back or cancel related observances. The response suggests that this approach allows for plausible deniability while effectively suppressing these events in some places.

That’s for the trolls that are going to want to tell me “tHAt’S noT WhAT PursidENt TrUMp diD!”
