Hi. How are you? I know it’s been awhile and a lot has happened since last we spoke with any regularity. Life happens, people lose touch for periods of time, then, if they’re lucky, life finds a way to bring them back together again. But if life does not, well, hopefully everyone involved is grateful for the time had together, stories shared, memories created.<\/span><\/p>\n

While I’ve been away I want you to know that I’ve thought about you a lot. I’ve even watched from afar some of the struggles, celebrated the joys, and tried to find the right words (or silly memes) if I thought it might help. Just know I’ve never stopped being on your side. I need you to know that at least one person was and will always be pulling for you. <\/span><\/div>\n

God knows we could all use someone to remind us that they’re pulling for us from time to time. Especially in the year of our Lord<\/a> 2020. That you’ve survived this year is a testament to you. Go on with your bad self. <\/span><\/div>\n

Mostly I wrote this to you to tell you that I see you. I know there are some serious struggles, immeasurable pain, and even some overwhelming joy going on in your life and the lives of your most important people. I also wrote to tell you thank you for not giving up all those times you thought we wouldn’t notice you not being here. <\/span><\/div>\n

2020 is almost over. A certain orange stain is almost moved out of DC. There is finally hope for the end of this pandemic. And you’re still here. That is my jam!<\/span><\/div>\n

And fret not. I am still the same cantankerous asshole you’ve always known. <\/span><\/div>\n

I just miss you and need you to know you mean more to me than you probably realize. <\/span><\/div>\n
